Early identification of pupils with exceptional abilities is integral to the schools' inclusion agenda. This in turn feeds into and celebrates the successes of all pupils. Teachers extend and challenge the gifted and talented registered pupils primarily through in-class provision. This might involve posing higher order thinking questions, setting in-depth problems and presenting them with more open ended tasks.

CISD works actively to identify and support Gifted and Talented students. These students may show extraordinary talent in one or a number of different settings. These could include Academics, Culture, Sports and Leadership. Referrals to the GATE programme can be made by parents, teachers from contributing schools, the students' current teachers or the students themselves.

Our goal is to encourage our GATE students to extend themselves by offering support, guidance and opportunities to use their talents.
